The Opportunity:

As a French Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring students to develop their language skills and achieve their full potential. You will join a dedicated department focused on delivering a high-quality curriculum and supporting student success across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach French to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 with a focus on developing language proficiency and cultural understanding.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the French curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all students.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Modern Languages department to provide a supportive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Motivate and engage students to achieve their best academically and personally.
  • Support the school’s values by fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote active learning and language use.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching French at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge in French and a passion for language teaching.
  • Experience working in a school setting, ideally within a co-educational or Diamond School environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and personal development.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language or bilingual education.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and the use of technology in the classroom.
  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership within a department.
  • Previous involvement in extracurricular activities related to languages or cultural exchange programs.
