The Opportunity:

As the Director of Estates and Facilities, you will lead the strategic and operational management of estates services across all sites. This is a key role in shaping the future-ready environments that support the educational ambitions of a school. You will drive innovation, compliance, and continuous improvement in a dynamic and growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership of estates and facilities management services across all sites.
  • Shape and deliver a long-term estates strategy aligned with the school’s educational goals.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team to ensure excellence in all aspects of estates and facilities management.
  • Oversee capital works, maintenance, compliance, health and safety, and both hard and soft services.
  • Ensure all academies benefit from safe, compliant, and inspiring environments.
  • Drive a culture of innovation, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and develop relationships with external partners and contractors.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of estates and facilities services.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in estates and facilities management.
  • Strong strategic planning and project management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of compliance, health and safety, and building regulations.
  • Experience in managing large-scale estates and facilities operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar large-scale educational setting.
  • Knowledge of capital works and major infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
