The Opportunity:

As the Director of Finance and Facilities, you will play a key role in shaping the school’s financial strategy and ensuring the effective management of facilities and ICT. This is an opportunity to lead with impact, ensuring resources support excellence in education and create a positive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure sustainability and the effective use of resources.
  • Advise the Headteacher, Leadership Team, and Governors on all financial matters.
  • Oversee facilities management, health & safety compliance, and PFI contract liaison.
  • Line manage finance, facilities, and IT teams, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the school development plan and strategic priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection standards.
  • Support the delivery of the school’s vision and mission through effective resource management.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree-level education or equivalent with relevant accountancy qualifications (AAT, ACA, ACCA, MBA, CIPFA, CIMA).
  • Strong leadership and management experience with strategic thinking and organisational ability.
  • Extensive experience in financial and budgetary management, ideally within education.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities.

Preferred

  • Experience in facilities and ICT management within an educational setting.
  • Experience in school development planning and strategic leadership.
  • Familiarity with PFI contracts and procurement processes.
  • Experience in leading and developing teams.
