The Opportunity:
As a Director of Learning - Computer Science, you will lead the development of a high-quality, engaging curriculum that empowers students to excel in Computer Science. This role is ideal for an experienced educator looking to make a meaningful impact on student outcomes and drive academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a dynamic Computer Science curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
- Lead and support a team of teachers to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, using data to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to shape school-wide strategies for academic success.
- Foster a culture of innovation and creativity in teaching and learning.
- Provide professional development opportunities for staff within the faculty.
- Ensure alignment with the school’s leadership specialism and core values.
- Promote and support the school’s mission of inspiring young people to become successful leaders.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven ability to teach to GCSE standard in Computer Science
- Experience in leading a faculty and driving improvements in student outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to coach and motivate colleagues to achieve targets
- Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills
- Commitment to educational excellence and student success
Preferred
- Experience in leading curriculum development and innovation
- Experience with leadership programmes and character development
- Familiarity with the Star Academies network and values
- Experience in working within a multi-academy trust environment
