The Opportunity:

As the MFL Curriculum Lead, you will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the Modern Foreign Languages department, ensuring a high-quality, inclusive curriculum that supports academic success and cultural understanding across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic development and day-to-day operation of the MFL department
  • Drive high-quality teaching, learning and outcomes across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Develop and oversee an ambitious, engaging and inclusive MFL curriculum
  • Monitor student progress and use assessment information to inform improvement strategies
  • Lead, support and develop colleagues within the department
  • Promote positive attitudes towards language learning and increase the profile of MFL across the school
  • Work collaboratively with wider school teams, families and external partners
  • Support curriculum innovation, enrichment opportunities and wider cultural experiences

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • A strong subject knowledge in either French or Spanish
  • Experience teaching MFL successfully across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Experience leading or supporting curriculum development and improvement
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
