Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that aligns with the school’s educational goals.
  • Lead and manage a team of music teachers, providing guidance, support, and professional development.
  • Organize and oversee school-wide music events, performances, and competitions.
  • Foster student engagement and achievement in music through innovative teaching and extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate music across the curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the music program, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Promote the school’s music program to students, parents, and the wider community.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and equality policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a music department or similar educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of music education and curriculum development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring staff.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
  • Relevant teaching qualifications and experience.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading successful music programs and events.
  • Familiarity with modern music technology and teaching methods.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Background in performing arts or related fields.
