Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that aligns with the school’s educational goals.
- Lead and manage a team of music teachers, providing guidance, support, and professional development.
- Organize and oversee school-wide music events, performances, and competitions.
- Foster student engagement and achievement in music through innovative teaching and extracurricular activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate music across the curriculum.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the music program, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Promote the school’s music program to students, parents, and the wider community.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and equality policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a music department or similar educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of music education and curriculum development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in managing and mentoring staff.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
- Relevant teaching qualifications and experience.
Preferred
- Experience in leading successful music programs and events.
- Familiarity with modern music technology and teaching methods.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Background in performing arts or related fields.
