The Opportunity:

As the Head of Psychology, you will lead a successful department and shape the future of Psychology education. This role is ideal for an experienced and passionate educator who wants to make a lasting impact on students and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Psychology department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to enhance student outcomes.
  • Support and mentor a team of dedicated teachers to maintain excellence in instruction.
  • Promote student engagement and achievement through innovative and inclusive practices.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments to align curriculum and pedagogy with school goals.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Psychology and integrate new ideas into teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a Head of Department or in a senior leadership role in education.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and raising standards.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
  • Excellent knowledge of Psychology curriculum and teaching methodologies.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with an Ofsted 'Outstanding' rating.
  • Background in leading departmental CPD and staff development.
  • Experience with extracurricular programs and student welfare initiatives.
  • Familiarity with the GLF Schools Trust and its values.
