The Opportunity:

As Director of Physical Education, you will lead and inspire a team to deliver a high-impact physical education program that supports student achievement and well-being. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of education in Abu Dhabi and make a lasting impact on student development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement department policies aligned with the school’s vision and commitment to excellence.
  • Create and evaluate short, medium, and long-term plans for departmental development.
  • Use data to identify underachieving students and implement targeted support strategies.
  • Analyze school data and research to inform teaching methods and curriculum improvements.
  • Design and review comprehensive schemes of work that cater to all students, including SEN, G&T, and EAL learners.
  • Ensure curriculum continuity and progression across all year groups and ability levels.
  • Establish clear policies for assessing, recording, and reporting student achievement.
  • Set high expectations for staff performance and quality of teaching and learning.
  • Evaluate teaching practices and drive continuous improvement in departmental standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in the related subject with PGCE or equivalent teacher qualification.
  • Minimum of 6 years teaching experience in the English National Curriculum.
  • Experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.

Preferred

  • Passion for teaching and commitment to whole-child education.
  • Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership.
