The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Primary Teacher - Head of Year to lead and inspire a team of educators. This role offers the chance to shape the future of education in Abu Dhabi and make a meaningful impact on student achievement and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement departmental policies and practices aligned with the school’s vision and educational standards.
  • Establish and monitor short, medium, and long-term departmental development plans.
  • Use data to identify underachieving students and create targeted support strategies.
  • Analyse school data to inform policy decisions and contribute to school improvement planning.
  • Ensure comprehensive and inclusive schemes of work for all year groups, including SEN/POD, G&T, and EAL students.
  • Oversee curriculum coverage, continuity, and progression for all students.
  • Manage and develop a team in accordance with school performance management policies.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration within the department through regular meetings and agendas.
  • Efficiently deploy staff and resources to maximise departmental performance.
  • Manage departmental budgets and ensure effective use of resources and facilities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or equivalent with teaching qualification
  • Minimum of 6 years teaching experience in the English National Curriculum
  • Experience working with students for whom English is not their first language

Preferred

  • Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities
  • Strong leadership and team management experience
  • Experience in curriculum development and school improvement planning
