The Opportunity:
As the Director of School Operations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering operational excellence across a large and dynamic educational institution. This is a leadership position that demands strategic thinking, operational expertise, and the ability to lead change in a complex and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement robust operational systems and processes across the school.
- Provide professional leadership and guidance to Heads of Operations, ensuring consistency and capability across the Group.
- Oversee the day-to-day operational performance of the school, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership teams, central professional services, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and responsiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on efficiency, compliance, and the delivery of excellence.
- Support the school’s growth strategy through effective operational planning and execution.
- Ensure the school meets all regulatory and governance requirements within the educational sector.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the institution and the wider Group.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven senior leadership experience in a complex educational or multi-site organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organisational change and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of business processes, compliance, and governance in education.
- Experience in operational planning and implementation within a large institution.
- Ability to influence and work effectively with senior leadership teams and stakeholders.
- Commitment to delivering an outstanding operational environment that supports educational excellence.
Preferred
- Experience in leading operational teams within a multi-academy trust or similar structure.
- Background in managing large-scale development projects or capital programmes.
- Experience with school estate management or infrastructure development.
- Knowledge of educational policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong track record in fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
