The Opportunity:
As a Sixth Form Academic Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students through their Sixth Form journey. You will provide tailored academic guidance, help students develop effective study habits, and contribute to a positive and motivating learning environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Support and guide students through their Sixth Form experience, providing tailored academic assistance.
- Develop and implement strategies to help students improve study habits and academic performance.
- Collaborate with the Head of Sixth Form and Tutors to ensure a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for students and parents.
- Provide confidential administrative and strategic support for the day-to-day operations of the Sixth Form.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of academic and pastoral support programs.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with school policies and procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a school or educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in academic mentoring or pastoral support within a Sixth Form environment.
- Knowledge of student welfare and support strategies.
- Experience with administrative and strategic planning in an educational setting.
- Familiarity with the use of educational software and management systems.
