The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Geography Teacher Subject Leader who is passionate about delivering a rigorous and engaging curriculum. This role is essential in driving student success and maintaining the school's high standards in Geography, from Key Stage 4 to Key Stage 5.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Geography department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Deliver a diverse and challenging curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and improve departmental outcomes.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being and achievement.
  • Support the school’s mission to prepare students for success at university and beyond.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Geography education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
  • Mentor and support other Geography teachers within the department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Geography education.
  • Proven ability to teach Geography at Key Stage 4 and 5.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience in subject leadership.
  • Commitment to high academic standards and student achievement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with Direct Instruction teaching methods.
  • Background in developing and leading successful departments.
  • Experience in school improvement and curriculum development.
  • Strong record of student progress and attainment.
