Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography lessons using a Direct Instruction approach.
  • Ensure academic rigour and student progress across all year groups.
  • Work with a dedicated team of Geography specialists to support student achievement.
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective teaching strategies.
  • Promote a culture of Hard Work, Integrity, and Kindness throughout the department.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results, including at KS4 and KS5.
  • Take responsibility for student outcomes and act accordingly.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Geography or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Geography up to KS4.
  • Commitment to academic rigour and student success.
  • Ability to work within a team and promote a positive school culture.
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with Direct Instruction teaching methods.
  • Experience in developing and leading successful Geography departments.
  • Experience with enrichment activities and extracurricular Geography opportunities.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
