Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3-5 in line with the UK National Curriculum.
  • Plan and deliver practical and theoretical lessons that cater to diverse student needs and abilities.
  • Use effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Manage resources safely in practical learning environments.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles through education on nutrition and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning and development.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all students feel valued.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in Food Technology or a related subject within a UK secondary school setting.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for Design & Technology with an emphasis on Food Technology.
  • Excellent classroom management and student motivation skills.
  • Competent in using assessment strategies to monitor student progress.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching students with special educational needs or autism.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.
  • Experience with using digital tools and resources in the classroom.
  • Commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles through food education.
