Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a high-quality Health & Social Care curriculum at KS4 and KS5.
  • Lead and inspire a team of dedicated teachers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and support student progress, ensuring all students achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching methods and student outcomes.
  • Organise and deliver enrichment activities, including guest speaker events.
  • Ensure the curriculum aligns with the school’s mission and values of excellence and kindness.
  • Maintain strong links with external organisations and stakeholders.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Health & Social Care up to KS5.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a subject department.
  • Strong understanding of BTEC qualifications and assessment methods.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of Hard Work, Integrity, and Kindness.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and leading a successful subject department.
  • Background in Direct Instruction teaching methods.
  • Experience with student behaviour management and character development.
  • Familiarity with enrichment activities and guest speaker programs.
  • Previous experience in a school with a strong focus on academic and personal development.
