The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Director of Sixth Form to lead and inspire a dynamic and ambitious Sixth Form community. This role offers the chance to shape a high-achieving, inclusive, and academically rigorous provision that supports the personal and academic growth of students. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will have a significant impact on the school’s strategic direction and student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Sixth Form, ensuring academic and personal development excellence.
- Develop and implement policies that support the academic success and pastoral care of students.
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to contribute to whole-school strategy and improvement.
- Foster a culture of inclusivity, ambition, and high academic standards within the Sixth Form community.
- Support students in accessing opportunities that enhance their personal growth and future aspirations.
- Promote the school’s values and vision through active engagement in all areas of school life.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with colleagues across the school.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Sixth Form to ensure continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in senior leadership within education, preferably in a Sixth Form setting.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- A deep understanding of academic standards and the ability to deliver high-quality education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in developing and implementing strategic initiatives.
- Emotional intelligence and the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Preferred
- Experience working within the GDST or similar educational networks.
- A track record of improving student outcomes and engagement.
- Experience in pastoral care and student welfare.
- Familiarity with the latest educational trends and best practices.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and safeguarding.
