The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and inspiring Politics & History Teacher to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of Politics in the Sixth Form and contribute to the teaching of History across the school. The position may also lead to the Head of Politics role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Politics in the Sixth Form and History across the school.
- Promote critical and creative debate in the classroom.
- Develop and deliver engaging and challenging lesson plans.
- Support the academic and personal development of students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
- Contribute to the pastoral and extra-curricular life of the school.
- Participate in professional development and staff training programs.
- Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good honours degree in Politics, History, or a related field.
- Excellent subject knowledge in Politics and History.
- Proven ability to inspire and engage students in classroom discussions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching Politics at the Sixth Form level.
- Experience in leadership or management within an educational setting.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
