The Opportunity:
As Director of Sport, you will lead the PE department and drive a culture of excellence in teaching and learning. You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality curriculum and co-curricular programme that supports student development and success in sport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the PE department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Design and deliver a stimulating and challenging curriculum at GCSE and A Level.
- Develop and maintain a rich co-curricular programme, including team training and fixtures.
- Support student progress and achievement in PE, including examination classes.
- Coordinate participation in national sporting competitions and Trust rallies.
- Foster a culture of excellence and inspire students through sport.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance whole-school initiatives related to sport and physical education.
- Ensure the department remains successful and continues to grow its sporting achievements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching PE across the school up to A Level.
- Strong leadership and management skills with experience in departmental leadership.
- Ability to deliver high-quality teaching and learning in a dynamic environment.
- Commitment to developing a strong co-curricular programme.
- Experience in working within a school trust or multi-academy trust.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a successful sports department with a strong track record.
- Experience in managing national sporting competitions or fixtures.
- Knowledge of AQA PE qualifications and assessment processes.
- Passion for inspiring students through sport and physical activity.
- Experience in professional development and staff training.
