The Opportunity:

As a PE Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and high-quality physical education lessons across KS3 and KS4. You will also contribute to the development and delivery of extra-curricular activities, helping to inspire students and promote a lifelong love of sport and physical activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging PE lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and promote student well-being.
  • Develop and lead a range of extra-curricular sports clubs and activities to encourage student participation and engagement.
  • Support the school’s commitment to inclusion and diversity by ensuring all students have equal opportunities to participate and succeed in PE.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to review and enhance the PE department’s teaching and learning strategies.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support individual development.
  • Promote a positive and safe learning environment that encourages respect, teamwork, and healthy competition.
  • Participate in the school’s professional development programme and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching practices.
  • Support students in developing physical, social, and emotional skills through sport and physical activity.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in teaching PE at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong knowledge of current PE curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and leading extra-curricular sports activities.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices and strategies for diverse learners.
  • Experience with teaching in a school with a strong focus on student well-being and academic success.
  • Knowledge of sports leadership or coaching qualifications.
