The Opportunity:
A Head of Computer Science is needed to lead the growth and development of Computer Science across the school. This role is ideal for an experienced and innovative educator who is passionate about digital learning and emerging education technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Computer Science Department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
- Implement and support emerging education technology across the school.
- Collaborate closely with the Digital Innovation Lead and Computing teacher at the Junior School.
- Deliver and monitor the curriculum for KS3-5, including A level and GCSE qualifications.
- Stay up to date with national and examination curricular requirements and professional developments in the subject.
- Support and mentor junior staff within the department.
- Develop and implement strategies for improving student outcomes in Computer Science.
- Work with senior leadership to integrate digital learning into the wider school curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a Computer Science teacher from KS3-5, including teaching A level and GCSE for at least two cycles.
- Strong leadership and management experience within a school setting.
- In-depth knowledge of national and examination curricular requirements.
- Up-to-date understanding of developments in Computer Science and education technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Experience with digital innovation and integration in education.
- Knowledge of programming and software development.
- Experience with professional development and training programs.
