The Opportunity:

As the Director of Sports, you will lead a high-performance sports program and drive the school’s vision for an Active School model. This is a unique opportunity to shape a world-class sports program that impacts student wellbeing, academic achievement, and the school's reputation as a Centre of Excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a long-term sports strategy aligned with the Active School vision and whole-school improvement plan.
• Drive the Mustang sporting identity from participation to podium potential.
• Embed and oversee the High Performance Curriculum, including strength & conditioning, sports nutrition, and performance analysis.
• Maintain the school as a GEMS Centre of Excellence for Sport, including staff professional development and hosting regional/international conferences.
• Line manage the High Performance Team, including heads of strength & conditioning, sports nutrition, and football.
• Oversee the development and enhancement of sporting facilities and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Lead commercial growth, partnerships, and brand development, including managing the Mustang kit program and developing new sponsorships.
• Work alongside the Head Teacher of Active School to deliver and strengthen the Active School USP and ensure sport enhances student wellbeing and academic performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field (Master’s desirable).
• Proven experience leading a large-scale sports department or high-performance programme.
• Experience in academic PE and school sport governance, safeguarding, and compliance frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience building university scholarship pathways (USA/Canada) and professional sport links.

Preferred

• Experience developing commercial partnerships and managing sponsorship agreements.
• Strategic leadership experience with measurable impact on participation, performance, and profitability.
