The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality physical education lessons that promote health, teamwork, and lifelong fitness.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate sports and fitness programs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular and whole-school initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess student progress in physical education and provide constructive feedback.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in PE and sport, and integrate new ideas into teaching.
  • Support the school’s commitment to technology by using digital tools to enhance learning and communication.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events that promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching PE at primary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in physical education and sport.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on leadership responsibilities when required.

Preferred

  • Experience with BTEC or equivalent vocational qualification programs.
  • Coaching qualifications in football (UEFA B or above), wrestling (NCAA or Professional), basketball (WABC L2/L3 or Professional), swimming (Swim England L2 & Elite), or tennis (L3/4 or former national/world ranked).
  • Experience with the National Curriculum for England.
  • Familiarity with 1:1 technology integration in the classroom.
