The Opportunity:
We are seeking an inspiring and versatile Drama Teacher to join a dynamic and high-achieving department. This role involves delivering high-standard GCSE and A level exam preparation, as well as contributing to the school’s renowned drama productions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and develop the department further.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality drama lessons across the curriculum, including practical and written work for GCSE and A level students.
- Direct and produce high-standard school drama productions with a focus on professionalism and creativity.
- Support the development of the drama department, including curriculum planning and student progression.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the academic and extracurricular experience of students.
- Mentor and inspire students to achieve their full potential in both academic and performance-based areas.
- Contribute to the school’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and safeguarding.
- Engage in continuous professional development and stay up to date with best practices in drama education.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in drama education.
- Strong background in teaching GCSE and A level drama.
- Proven ability to direct and produce high-quality school productions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or taking on a Second in Department role.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and curriculum development.
- Experience with inclusive education and diversity initiatives.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
