The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Physics Teacher to join a thriving department that supports students from 11 to 18 years old. This role involves teaching IGCSE and A Level Physics and participating in a wide range of co-curricular activities. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality education and inspiring students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Physics across the Senior School age range (11-18 years) and prepare students for IGCSE and A Level examinations.
  • Deliver lessons that are engaging, challenging, and aligned with the Edexcel and AQA specifications.
  • Support students in developing strong academic and practical skills in Physics.
  • Participate in co-curricular activities such as the Physics Olympiad, Science Club, and trips to science-related institutions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Faculty of Science and across the school.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.
  • Contribute to the school’s strong record of Oxbridge and Medical School success.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a degree in Physics or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Physics at IGCSE and A Level.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student success and academic excellence.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including before and after school.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an independent school setting.
  • Involvement in co-curricular or extracurricular activities related to Physics.
  • Familiarity with the Edexcel and AQA specifications.
  • Experience in preparing students for university entrance examinations.
