The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative drama and English lessons that promote creativity and critical thinking.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that integrates drama and English, encouraging both individual and group work.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe to express themselves and receive constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular links and support student learning.
  • Support students in building confidence, charisma, and a range of transferable skills.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events that promote drama and the arts.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular and meaningful feedback.
  • Stay up to date with current developments in drama education and English teaching practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in drama and English education.
  • Strong knowledge of drama techniques and English curriculum requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering both drama and English at key stages 3 and 4.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular drama activities.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
