The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a DT Technician to support teaching and learning in the new secondary school. This role involves preparing materials, maintaining equipment such as 3D printers and laser cutters, ensuring health and safety, and assisting with practical lessons in subjects like Product Design. The DT Technician will play a key role in supporting students and teachers in a modern, dynamic learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage materials and resources for practical lessons and projects.
• Maintain and manage equipment, including 3D printers, laser cutters, and woodworking tools.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, including COSHH regulations.
• Assist teachers with practical lessons and student projects in subjects such as Product Design.
• Manage workshop resources, stock, and inventory effectively.
• Support the delivery of both traditional and modern CAD/CAM technology in the classroom.
• Provide a safe and well-organised learning environment for students and staff.
• Collaborate with teachers to enhance the learning experience through technical support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proficiency in English.
• 2+ years of experience working with children.
• Sound understanding of health and safety procedures, including COSHH.
• A can-do and flexible approach to work.
• Previous experience working with children.
• Secondary School Certificate or equivalent, with a technical or vocational qualification in Engineering, DT, or a related field.

Preferred

• Experience of working in a laboratory or technical environment.
