EAL Coordinator sought to lead and develop whole-school EAL strategy and support multilingual learners.

The Opportunity:

The EAL Coordinator will play a key role in shaping the school's EAL strategy, ensuring effective support for multilingual learners. This is a dynamic opportunity for an experienced professional to influence student outcomes and lead in a forward-thinking educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the school's EAL framework and strategy
  • Identify, assess, and track multilingual learners using appropriate assessment tools
  • Deliver targeted EAL support through push-in and pull-out models
  • Support classroom teachers with adaptive teaching strategies and inclusive classroom practices
  • Provide continuing professional development on effective EAL pedagogy
  • Monitor student progress and evaluate the impact of interventions
  • Liaise with parents, external stakeholders, and collaborate with the Inclusion team and Senior Leadership Team
  • Maintain accurate records in line with school and ADEK requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrable experience teaching within a British curriculum school
  • Strong background in working with multilingual learners
  • Thorough understanding of EAL pedagogy and language acquisition theory
  • Proven experience leading interventions or coordinating educational provision
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience in delivering CPD to colleagues

Preferred

  • Experience using standardised assessment tools for language proficiency
  • Background in international school settings
