The Opportunity:
An EAL Teacher is required to join a small but growing department, delivering high-quality instruction to students aged 11–18. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' language development and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective EAL lessons to students across the full age range, including one-to-one and small group settings.
- Support students preparing for qualifications such as IGCSE, BTEC, A-level, IB Diploma, and IELTS.
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Collaborate with the Head of EAL and other department members to enhance the curriculum and teaching methods.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of intervention programs aimed at raising achievement.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Contribute to the wider development of the EAL department through active involvement in meetings and training.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in EAL instruction.
- Strong subject knowledge in English as an additional language.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize effective lessons.
- Experience with intervention strategies to support student achievement.
- Proficient in the use of ICT in teaching and learning.
Preferred
- Experience teaching a range of qualifications including IGCSE, A-level, and IB.
- Familiarity with IELTS preparation.
- Experience in a co-educational and boarding school environment.
- Ability to contribute to the development of the EAL curriculum.
