The Opportunity:

As an Early Years Leader, you will lead a dedicated team of educators and play a key role in shaping the learning experience for young students. This role is ideal for experienced teachers looking to take on a leadership position within a dynamic, international school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Early Years teachers and TAs to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and other best practice approaches.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative and engaging learning experiences for children aged 0-5.
  • Provide regular coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align Early Years practices with the school’s educational vision and goals.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and the wider school community to support student development.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection across the department.
  • Stay up to date with the latest research and trends in Early Years education and apply them effectively in the classroom.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Recognised teaching qualification and at least 5 years of teaching experience.
  • Proven experience in an Early Years department within an international or UK-based school.
  • Strong knowledge of Early Years frameworks such as EYFS, Reggio Emilia, Montessori, or IEYC.
  • Understanding of child development from birth to age 5, including cognitive, social, emotional, and physical aspects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Demonstrated experience in middle leadership, such as leading a subject or year group.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with the ability to lead a team in this area.

Preferred

  • Experience with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) or White Rose Maths.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum for England and its adaptation for international contexts.
  • Experience working in a multicultural and international school environment.
  • Knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin is an advantage.
