The Opportunity:
The Early Years Lead Practitioner will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality early years curriculum and leading a team of staff. This position is ideal for a qualified Early Years professional who is passionate about education and child development, and who can inspire and support both children and colleagues in a progressive and innovative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Rising 3s class on Wednesdays and Thursdays, delivering a stimulating and engaging learning experience.
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and enabling indoor and outdoor environment that supports children’s learning and development.
- Deploy staff and resources effectively, ensuring appropriate staff-child ratios are maintained.
- Implement the school’s Early Years curriculum, tailoring it to meet the individual needs of each child.
- Conduct regular observations and assessments, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records are maintained and shared effectively.
- Support the management team by contributing to staff performance monitoring and development.
- Act as a key person for a group of children, providing consistent care and support.
- Develop and maintain resources and learning environments that promote creativity and learning.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on children’s progress and development.
- Promote the welfare and safeguarding of children, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Early Years professional with relevant teaching experience.
- Experience working with children aged 2-3 in an early years setting.
- Ability to lead and manage a team of staff effectively.
- Strong knowledge of early years curriculum and child development.
- Excellent communication and observational skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership or key person role within an early years setting.
- Familiarity with digital technology in the classroom.
- Experience in supporting children with special needs and disabilities.
- Experience in transition planning and supporting children through changes in their learning journey.
- Knowledge of multi-agency working and collaboration with external professionals.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £30,509 - £31,828 per annum (pro rata for part-time roles).
