The Opportunity:
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting young children’s learning and development. You will work closely with teachers to create a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of pupils aged 3-5.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils in engaging in age-appropriate activities that stimulate learning and development.
- Contribute to observations and individual learning journeys of pupils.
- Assist in planning and delivering child-led learning experiences.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, reflecting their cultural and developmental needs.
- Liaise with parents and carers to support the learning and wellbeing of children.
- Manage and supervise pupils during Late Stay and holiday provision, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
- Uphold the school’s behaviour policy and ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver a consistent and effective Early Years programme.
- Support the planning and implementation of PEPs for pupils with special needs and disabilities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with young children in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Basic knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage requirements.
Preferred
- Previous experience in an Early Years setting, ideally within a school environment.
- Experience in supporting children with special educational needs.
- Familiarity with child development and learning theories.
- Experience in managing small groups of children during after-school provision.
