Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the maths department.
  • Drive curriculum development and ensure consistently high standards in teaching and assessment.
  • Support colleagues in refining their practice and sharing effective teaching methods.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Promote collaboration and innovation across the department.
  • Monitor and use student progress data to improve outcomes.
  • Ensure alignment with the school’s educational vision and values.
  • Lead the department in responding to the needs of a changing educational landscape.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading a maths department at a sixth form level.
  • Strong track record in teaching and learning, with a commitment to academic excellence.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate colleagues and students.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in A Level teaching and leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with post-16 education and its unique challenges and opportunities.
  • Experience in fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture.
  • Knowledge of innovative teaching practices and technologies.
