Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the maths department.
- Drive curriculum development and ensure consistently high standards in teaching and assessment.
- Support colleagues in refining their practice and sharing effective teaching methods.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Promote collaboration and innovation across the department.
- Monitor and use student progress data to improve outcomes.
- Ensure alignment with the school’s educational vision and values.
- Lead the department in responding to the needs of a changing educational landscape.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading a maths department at a sixth form level.
- Strong track record in teaching and learning, with a commitment to academic excellence.
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Ability to inspire and motivate colleagues and students.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred
- Experience in A Level teaching and leadership roles.
- Familiarity with post-16 education and its unique challenges and opportunities.
- Experience in fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture.
- Knowledge of innovative teaching practices and technologies.
