Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the maths department.
Drive curriculum development and ensure consistently high standards in teaching and assessment.
Support colleagues in refining their practice and sharing effective teaching methods.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Promote collaboration and innovation across the department.
Monitor and use student progress data to improve outcomes.
Ensure alignment with the school’s educational vision and values.
Lead the department in responding to the needs of a changing educational landscape.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

Proven experience in leading a maths department at a sixth form level.
Strong track record in teaching and learning, with a commitment to academic excellence.
Experience in curriculum development and assessment strategies.
Ability to inspire and motivate colleagues and students.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred

Experience in A Level teaching and leadership roles.
Familiarity with post-16 education and its unique challenges and opportunities.
Experience in fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture.
Knowledge of innovative teaching practices and technologies.
