The Opportunity:

As Deputy Head of Wider Curriculum, you will provide strategic leadership for a range of extracurricular and enrichment programs, ensuring they align with the school’s educational mission and support student growth and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the development of a comprehensive wider curriculum, including drama, music, sport, and outdoor education.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of the school’s residential trip program and all enrichment activities.
  • Work closely with the Senior Management Team to ensure alignment with the school’s strategic goals and values.
  • Foster strong partnerships with external organizations to enhance student experiences and opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, innovation, and excellence across all wider curricular activities.
  • Support the personal development, health, and wellbeing of all students through meaningful engagement and programming.
  • Ensure the effective management and evaluation of all wider curriculum initiatives.
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff to create a cohesive and inspiring learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a senior educational role.
  • Strong strategic and management skills with experience in curriculum development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A deep understanding of the boarding school environment and its unique requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading extracurricular programs or enrichment initiatives.
  • Background in pastoral care or student wellbeing.
  • Knowledge of innovative teaching and learning practices.
  • Experience with school residential programs or outdoor education.
