The Opportunity:
As Deputy Head of Wider Curriculum, you will provide strategic leadership for a range of extracurricular and enrichment programs, ensuring they align with the school’s educational mission and support student growth and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the development of a comprehensive wider curriculum, including drama, music, sport, and outdoor education.
- Oversee the planning and delivery of the school’s residential trip program and all enrichment activities.
- Work closely with the Senior Management Team to ensure alignment with the school’s strategic goals and values.
- Foster strong partnerships with external organizations to enhance student experiences and opportunities.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, innovation, and excellence across all wider curricular activities.
- Support the personal development, health, and wellbeing of all students through meaningful engagement and programming.
- Ensure the effective management and evaluation of all wider curriculum initiatives.
- Collaborate with teaching and support staff to create a cohesive and inspiring learning environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a senior educational role.
- Strong strategic and management skills with experience in curriculum development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A deep understanding of the boarding school environment and its unique requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in leading extracurricular programs or enrichment initiatives.
- Background in pastoral care or student wellbeing.
- Knowledge of innovative teaching and learning practices.
- Experience with school residential programs or outdoor education.
