The Opportunity:
As the Director of Climate Education, you will lead the development and implementation of climate-focused teaching and learning strategies. This role is pivotal in embedding climate education across the school’s global portfolio, supporting education systems worldwide in responding to the climate crisis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive climate education strategy.
- Collaborate with product teams and senior leaders to embed climate education into curricula, assessments, and long-term organisational goals.
- Build and manage external partnerships with key organisations, positioning the school as a global thought leader in climate education.
- Champion innovation and future planning, using climate education as a context for curriculum development and professional development.
- Strengthen internal capability by leading networks, coordinating communication, and enabling colleague professional development.
- Monitor and measure the impact of climate education initiatives across products and services.
- Represent the school at major climate and education events, delivering impactful messages and fostering global engagement.
- Develop and deliver high-quality learning content, research, and professional development that align with sustainability goals.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role with a track record of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong understanding of the international education sector, including curriculum development and pedagogy.
- Demonstrated knowledge of climate education principles and practices.
- Experience in strategic planning and the ability to align initiatives with organisational goals.
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills, with the ability to represent the school at high-profile events.
- Demonstrable experience in programme management and curriculum development within the education sector.
Preferred
- Experience influencing education policy or strategy.
- Involvement in national or international climate education networks.
- Background in education business development or professional development.
