The Opportunity:

As an Economics Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the learning of students across A Level and the IB Diploma Programme. You will deliver dynamic lessons that encourage critical thinking and connect economic theory to real-world issues, while also contributing to departmental enrichment and pastoral support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging, challenging lessons that foster critical thinking and analytical skills in Economics.
  • Support students through key academic milestones, including university pathways and competitive courses.
  • Contribute to the development of the Economics and Business Department through enrichment activities, such as academic societies, competitions, and outreach.
  • Provide pastoral support through tutoring and involvement in House activities, promoting student wellbeing and character development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a culture of intellectual curiosity, lively debate, and academic excellence.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Economics education and integrate innovative teaching methods into the classroom.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and leadership skills.
  • Engage in the wider school community through co-curricular and pastoral activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Economics or Business Studies.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality lessons that challenge and inspire students.
  • Experience teaching A Level or IB Economics, with a commitment to academic excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in a boarding or day school environment, with an understanding of holistic education.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching techniques and the use of technology in the classroom.
  • Involvement in co-curricular activities, such as academic societies, competitions, or outreach.
  • Experience in pastoral care or student support roles.
  • A passion for lifelong learning and professional development.
