The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic Science team as Science Teacher and Second in Department, leading and inspiring students in Physics and across the Science curriculum. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a school’s continued success and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the Science department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Deliver innovative and engaging Physics lessons at all key stages.
  • Teach across all three sciences at KS3 and support Chemistry at KS4.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve student outcomes and achievement.
  • Contribute to the development of Science curriculum and departmental strategies.
  • Mentor and support junior staff within the Science team.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and intervention.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Science, specifically Physics.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality lessons and achieve strong student outcomes.
  • Experience teaching all three sciences at KS3.
  • Ability to teach Chemistry at KS4.
  • Strong leadership and teamworking skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership role within a school department.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Familiarity with multi-academy trust structures and collaborative working.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
