The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and inspiring History Teacher to join a dynamic Humanities team and support students in developing a deep understanding of the world. This is an excellent opportunity for an Early Career Teacher or an experienced practitioner to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and ambitious environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire a love of History and encourage critical thinking.
  • Support students in achieving excellent outcomes through effective teaching and personalized learning strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of the Humanities curriculum and cross-curricular initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive and aspirational learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic growth.
  • Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
  • Engage with parents and the wider community to promote the school’s values and vision.
  • Take responsibility for pastoral care and student welfare within the department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in teaching History at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to student success and a track record of delivering high-quality education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Religious Studies at KS3/4 or Sociology at KS4.
  • Proven ability to secure excellent student outcomes.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology integration.
  • Background in safeguarding and child protection.
