The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join a dynamic and successful department. The role involves teaching Food Technology to students at KS3 and KS4, with potential to teach KS5 in the future. The ideal candidate will inspire students and contribute to the continued growth of the department with a creative and practical approach to teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons to students at Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5.
  • Develop and implement innovative and engaging lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the development of the Food Technology department and wider Technology curriculum.
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment that encourages creativity, practical skills, and student engagement.
  • Support students in developing their knowledge and skills in Food Technology, with a focus on wellbeing, independence, and future opportunities.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and other school events as required.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning culture, encouraging student motivation and achievement.
  • Contribute to the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Food Technology or a related subject.
  • Strong knowledge of the Food Technology curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to high-quality teaching, innovative planning, and strong teamwork within a supportive department.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain a safe learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching other Technology subjects in addition to Food Technology.
  • Experience in developing and delivering practical lessons with a creative and innovative approach.
  • Experience working in a school with a strong ethos of wellbeing and academic excellence.
  • Experience in contributing to the development of a successful and expanding department.
