The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Electrician to support the maintenance of safe, efficient, and well-presented college buildings across Inner London campuses. This role is vital in ensuring all electrical systems and building maintenance are compliant, safe, and delivered to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical works, repairs, and general building maintenance.
  • Maintain electrical systems including generators and lighting.
  • Diagnose faults, repair or replace components, and ensure safe system operation.
  • Complete planned and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and update CAFM systems.
  • Use technical drawings and manuals to plan and deliver repairs.
  • Monitor contractor activity, ensuring quality and safety compliance.
  • Support operational site safety and security during maintenance work.
  • Travel between campuses as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified and experienced Electrician with 17th/18th Edition certification.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and fix electrical issues.
  • Experience working in occupied buildings.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance standards.

Preferred

  • Experience with CAFM systems.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance and electrical safety regulations.
  • Experience in a college or educational setting.
  • Proactive and solutions-driven approach to maintenance work.
