The Opportunity:
As an ESOL Lecturer, you will be instrumental in delivering engaging and effective teaching to students across a variety of full-time and part-time programmes. You will contribute to curriculum development and ensure learners develop essential skills in literacy, numeracy, and digital capability, while supporting their overall academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching across full-time and part-time ESOL programmes.
- Plan, prepare, and assess learning activities that promote literacy, numeracy, and digital skills.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and support the delivery of essential skills.
- Maximise learner attendance, retention, and punctuality within assigned groups.
- Ensure an outstanding learning experience for all students through innovative teaching methods.
- Utilise IT tools effectively, including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, to enhance teaching and learning.
- Support the use of virtual learning environments and e-learning platforms where applicable.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve teaching standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Comprehensive subject knowledge in ESOL and related areas.
- Strong understanding of current educational initiatives and teaching methodologies.
- Intermediate IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to plan, prepare, and assess learning activities effectively.
Preferred
- Experience with learner management systems and student record systems.
- Familiarity with virtual learning environments and e-learning platforms.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
- Background in teaching English as a second language.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
