The Opportunity:
As an English Subject Leader Teacher, you will play a key role in driving improvements in curriculum, teaching, and student attainment. This position offers the chance to lead and innovate in a high-performing department, while supporting student achievement and development across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the English curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Support and mentor colleagues to raise student achievement and learning outcomes.
- Deliver high-quality, innovative teaching that promotes higher level thinking and student engagement.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support and interventions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and effective learning experience.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Ensure the implementation of school-wide policies and initiatives.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of extracurricular and enrichment activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in English.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Proven ability to raise student achievement and attainment.
- Excellent knowledge of the English curriculum and pedagogy.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Experience with professional development and coaching.
- Familiarity with NPQ qualifications or similar leadership training.
- Experience with inclusive education and supporting disadvantaged students.
