The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Subject Leader Maths Teacher to lead and inspire a team of 15 educators, driving improvements in teaching and learning across the Mathematics department. This role is central to the school’s mission to raise attainment and provide a world-class education to all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Mathematics curriculum, including AS & A2 Mathematics and Further Mathematics.
- Support and mentor colleagues within the department to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that challenge and engage students of all abilities.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to shape school-wide strategies for academic improvement.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development within the department.
- Ensure that the department meets all statutory and school requirements for teaching and learning.
- Work closely with other subject leaders to support the school’s strategic goals.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Mathematics at Key Stage 4 and 5.
- Proven leadership experience within a school setting, ideally in a subject leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of current teaching methodologies and curriculum design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to raising attainment for all students, particularly those eligible for pupil premium funding.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a team of teachers and driving departmental improvement.
- Familiarity with the Institute for Teaching and other professional development programmes.
- Experience with NPQ qualifications or similar leadership training.
- Ability to engage with educational research and implement evidence-based teaching strategies.
