The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher - Additional Resource Provision, you will deliver high-quality English education to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective English lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.
  • Provide targeted small-group interventions to support academic progress and personal development.
  • Supervise and lead therapeutic or enrichment activities to enhance student wellbeing.
  • Support students during lunchtimes and other non-teaching hours as part of a nurturing environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the ARP team to ensure students are engaged and achieve their full potential.
  • Work with students in the main school who are integrating from the ARP into mainstream lessons.
  • Contribute to the development of a bespoke curriculum that supports emotional wellbeing and academic success.
  • Participate in the wider school community to ensure staff wellbeing and alignment with school values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in English education.
  • Experience working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive and anti-racist practices.
  • Ability to deliver creative and engaging lessons.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering small-group interventions or therapeutic activities.
  • Background in additional resource provision or special educational needs.
  • Experience with curriculum development and student support strategies.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies.
