The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the continued success of the school’s outstanding English department. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning, inspiring students to achieve their full potential, and contributing to the school’s enrichment programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative English lessons to students across key stages.
  • Support students in achieving excellent GCSE and A-level results.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote independent learning.
  • Contribute to the school’s enrichment programme and extracurricular activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve departmental performance and student outcomes.
  • Participate in the school’s professional development and research-based learning initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
  • Support students’ personal and academic growth through pastoral care and guidance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Experience of teaching both GCSE and A-level English.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
  • Familiarity with research-based teaching strategies.
  • Experience with safeguarding and pastoral care.
  • Strong commitment to inclusion and diversity in education.
