The Opportunity:

As a Science Teacher - Additional Resource Provision, you will deliver high-quality science education tailored to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role is integral to ensuring academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and successful integration into mainstream learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging science lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.
  • Lead small-group interventions to support individual learning outcomes.
  • Supervise and lead therapeutic or enrichment activities to enhance student engagement.
  • Support students during lunchtimes and other non-teaching duties.
  • Collaborate closely with the ARP team to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Work with students transitioning from ARP into mainstream school lessons.
  • Contribute to the development of a curriculum that promotes both academic and personal growth.
  • Maintain strong relationships with students and colleagues within the ARP and wider school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Science education.
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging lessons to students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive and creative teaching methods.
  • Experience in supporting students with additional needs.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering small-group interventions or therapeutic activities.
  • Background in working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Experience in a resource provision or specialist support setting.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development for students with additional needs.
