Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that promote student progress and achievement
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students of all abilities
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies
- Support the school’s ethos and values through active participation in pastoral and extra-curricular activities
- Monitor and assess student performance to ensure consistent progress
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of departmental initiatives and curriculum development
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practice
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and academic expectations in the classroom
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to inclusive practice and raising attainment for all students
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Preferred
- Experience teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
- Experience with pastoral care and student support
- Familiarity with Catholic ethos and values
- Experience in professional development or leadership roles
- Strong organisational and time management skills
