The Opportunity:
As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the learning experience of students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. You will be part of a dynamic and successful department that consistently delivers outstanding results and is focused on raising student achievement and aspiration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stage 3, 4, and 5, ensuring students are engaged and challenged.
- Develop and implement creative and effective lesson plans that support student progress and achievement.
- Use ongoing assessment and feedback to monitor student performance and tailor support accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the English and Media department to enhance departmental outcomes and share best practice.
- Support the school’s mission and values, including a strong commitment to the Catholic ethos and community engagement.
- Encourage student participation in extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities.
- Contribute to the professional development of the department through continuous improvement and innovation.
- Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success and wellbeing.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
- Ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for English.
- Commitment to high-quality planning, teaching, and assessment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in working within a team and contributing to departmental improvement.
Preferred
- Experience with teaching English as a Second Language.
- Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
- Experience in supporting student wellbeing and pastoral care.
- Experience in delivering CPD or training sessions.
- Familiarity with inclusive education and differentiated teaching strategies.
