The Opportunity:

As a Teacher of English, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality lessons and supporting students to achieve their full potential. This is a permanent role, ideal for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers, offering the chance to work in a school with a proven track record of academic success and a supportive community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective English lessons that inspire a love of learning and promote high standards of attainment
  • Contribute to the development of the English curriculum, ensuring it meets national standards and supports student progression
  • Participate in departmental activities, including enrichment programmes and field trips, to enhance the learning experience
  • Monitor and support student progress, providing regular feedback and reporting to parents and carers
  • Act as a Form Tutor, promoting positive behaviour and fostering a strong sense of discipline and responsibility

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree in English or a related discipline
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and exam specifications
  • Excellent organisational and classroom management skills

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching a range of abilities
  • Commitment to personal and professional development
  • Experience with pastoral care or form tutoring
