The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated English Teacher to join our dynamic team. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and contribute to a school that values excellence in teaching and innovation in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 following the UK Curriculum.
  • Develop and implement engaging, student-centered teaching strategies that promote analytical and evaluative skills.
  • Assess and monitor student progress effectively, using a range of formative and summative assessment methods.
  • Support the development of students' intercultural understanding through historical and literary contexts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to enhance cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Organize and lead educational trips and activities that enrich the learning experience.
  • Utilize primary and secondary sources to deepen students' understanding of historical and literary themes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in English or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching English in a secondary school setting.
  • Proven experience teaching the British curriculum (GCSE and A-Level).
  • Strong knowledge of historical periods, themes, and historiography.
  • Experience in developing analytical and evaluative skills in students.

Preferred

  • Experience in differentiated teaching strategies for diverse learners.
  • Strong communication skills for facilitating discussion-based learning.
  • Knowledge of current history and English education methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience in EAL teaching and support.
