Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons at both Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Promote the appreciation and understanding of English through creative and stimulating teaching.
- Monitor and support student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
- Create and maintain a disciplined, positive learning environment that encourages student motivation and achievement.
- Contribute to the development of departmental schemes of work, assessments, and resources.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and whole-school initiatives.
- Support students through pastoral roles, including form tutoring and other duties.
- Ensure compliance with external examination requirements and Teachers’ Standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A sound and developed knowledge of English and its examination specifications.
- Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4.
- Ability to create and maintain a stimulating and disciplined classroom environment.
- Commitment to student progress and achievement.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to contribute to departmental policies and developments.
Preferred
- Experience with developing and delivering innovative teaching resources.
- Experience in contributing to the production of examination papers and marking.
- Experience in leading or supporting whole-school improvement initiatives.
- Experience with pastoral care and form tutoring.
